Director of Client Experience
After earning her Bachelor of Science from the Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University, Melissa shifted gears and obtained an associate’s degree in Auto Body Design from Macomb Community College. She spent four years as an auto body designer and one of the first CAD users before transitioning to a research-based engineering position. After a 14-year break to raise her children, Melissa entered the finance world.
Melissa began her financial services career in 2005 as a part-time associate with Dan, handling phones and organizing the contact management system. Her engineering background brought a detail-oriented perspective to client service, and her genuine care for clients led her to become a full-time, integral team member. Over her 19 years with the team, she has managed internal operations, prepared for client meetings, addressed compliance matters, organized events, and became a notary public to enhance client convenience. Melissa takes pride in advocating for clients by understanding their financial hopes and concerns, striving to provide them with peace of mind.
A metro-Detroit native, Melissa and her husband Tim have lived in West Bloomfield for 40 years and have two adult children. Their daughter, Autumn, is currently in South Korea on a student visa, while their son Colin is close to home and enjoys playing vintage baseball (no gloves; 1860 rules) with his dad. In her free time, Melissa is an avid reader, enthusiastic golfer, and enjoys road trips in their three classic cars.
Retirement Goal: A Route 66 road trip.
First Job: I worked with my Dad, an electrician, who taught me how to wire electrical control panels for assembly lines. This skill led to a job where I met my husband.
Famous People I’ve Met: Mickey Mantle, George Takei, Terry Brooks, George R. R. Martin (all at book signings), Tommy Lasorda (at a minor league baseball game) and Smokey Robinson (on a golf course).
